Introduction to Xi’an Software Park

Xi’an Software Park, established in December 1998, is the professional park for Xi’an to develop scale software and service outsourcing industries. The Park has been appraised as a software industry base under the National Torch Program, national software industry base, national software export base, city demonstrational area of national service outsourcing base and it is one of the four parks with “double bases” of software in China currently.

Xi’an Software Park assembles 90% of enterprises engaging in software and service outsourcing in Xi’an,.The annual industrial growth in Park rate up to 45%. There are nearly 780 companies, of which foreign-funded enterprises account for 170 and over 71,000 jobholders in the park by the end of 2008. Total revenue reaches 22.7 billion RMB, and export reaches 110 million US dollars in year of 2008.

The Park has attracted a number of renowned overseas enterprises from the Occident, Japan, and so on. There are more than 40 enterprises from the Occident including enterprises from US, such as Oracle, Emerson, Newegg, Objectiva, HD, TeleNav, HOV, and Active Network; Infineon from Germany; Nortel and Platform from Canada; and so on; more than 30 enterprises from Japan, including Denso, Fujitus, NEC-CAS, NTT Data, Solam, Meitec, GrapeCity, Renesas, Yokogawa, ABeam, and Bigbang, etc; Enterprises from Taiwan include NewSoft, Advantech, Ling’an, Besta and Browan Communications, etc; and Coolpad Software set up by Yulong Communication got listed in Hong Kong. Famous domestic enterprises include Huawei, Ufida, Kingdee, Digital China, Ourgame, Longcheer Holdings, Baosight, and Ping An Insurance, etc. In addition, a group of excellent local enterprises assembled in the Park are growing bigger, such as Compupacific International Inc., IWNCOMM, Jump, Westerasoft, Wise-tech, Saming Technology, Shiwen Software, etc.

With the development for ten years, “Xi’an Software” and Xi’an IT Service” are of certain influence both at home and abroad. In The Economist, a well-known magazine around the globe, a review, named “Watch out! India”, was published with the software and service outsourcing industries in Xi’an as the background, arousing intensive response across the world. Xi’an Software Park is committed in the construction of a world level R&D base for service outsourcing and software, and thus the Park may be built into a special industrial base assembling a great number of famous enterprises around the world, possessing active innovative capability and advanced industrial clusters, and attracting lots of high-end talents, thus radiating and driving the prosperity of regional economy.

Occupied Area and Planning of Xi’an Software Park

Phase I and Phase II of Xi’an Software Park-Demonstration Zone of Software Park
It covers an area of over 600 mu, including the building area of 400,000m2, of which the area of owned properties is 170,000m2.
At present, the occupancy rate is over 85%. 

Xi’an Software Park-Software Service Outsourcing Base

Situated in the CBD of Xi’an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone with an area of 200 mu and a planned building area of about 300,000m2, the Software Service Outsourcing Base was constructed starting from February 2007. By now, the Startup Area (44 mu) with a building area of about 57,000m2 has been put into operation. Japan NEC, etc. has entered the Base. 

Xi’an Software Park-Software New City

Situated in the southwest of Xi’an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone with an area of about 4km2, the Software New City is now under urgent construction. Presently, the conceptual plan of “one central two axes, two areas and ten blocks” has been completed. After completion, it will become

• an ecological, environmental-friendly, hi-tech innovation incubator
• an urban functional center with multiple functions and under fast development
• a highly effective, intensive and active senior office area
